Behind our Guiding Star Collection

In March we launched our mini 'Guiding Star' collection which you have already loved so much. This pretty personalised jewellery collection is inspired by the North Star or Polaris, the brightest star in the night sky, a beacon of guidance in times when you may feel in need of a little direction. Covid 19 and the ongoing restrictions have upended the way we live, work and interact with each other.

Lulu + Belle Scoops National Award

We are super excited to share the news that Lulu + Belle was last month awarded 'Online Retailer of the Year 2020' at the inaugural Digital Business Ireland Awards. Lulu + Belle scooped the award in this hugely competitive category and were chosen from 300 Irish businesses. The DBI awards were launched last year in partnership with title sponsor, Permanent TSB, to mark best practice in digital innovation, digital business + the people that power it.

We Are Hiring

We are looking for someone to join our team on a part-time basis working in dispatch and customer service. The role involves printing customer orders, checking orders against customer invoices, packaging customer orders, dispatching orders across a number of different online platforms and customer care via email. This role also involves keeping our packaging materials prepared and in stock.

Creating your personalised necklaces in the Irish language

As we look back on a crazy and challenging year, one of the lovely trends that emerged in our workshop was the request to have your personalised necklaces stamped in the Irish language. We have always offered the addition of fadas to your initial necklaces and name necklaces to spell Irish names. Last year however, we saw lots and lots of you choosing to have special messages and phrases stamped in Irish to create a customised necklace with added meaning and an Irish spin.

The position is on a part-time basis and we are looking for an energetic person who is willing to assist with a variety of tasks in a busy jewellery workshop environment. The ideal person will have excellent attention to detail, a very strong interest in jewellery making and can work well on their own initiative.

What is argentium silver and why have we introduced it ?

We have recently introduced argentium (935) silver into our workshop to make some of our initial necklaces and personalised necklaces in silver. Here is some information on argentium and why we have started using it in our jewellery collection. What is argentium silver ? Argentium silver is an 'alloy' or mixture of metals which has a high content of pure silver mixed with a small amount of germanium. This makes it a very fine form of silver and gives it some very beneficial qualities in the making of silver jewellery.

With a recent addition to our Mum jewelry collection in the run up to Mother's Day 2020, I wanted to take you on a step by step journey on the making of our special Mum necklace.
