December Birthstone Stud Earrings – Turquoise, Gold Vermeil

This turquoise stud keeps things simple: one smooth, sky-blue cabochon held in a gold vermeil setting, small enough to wear every day without a second thought.

Turquoise is December's birthstone, so these make sense as a gift for a December birthday, or any occasion tied to someone born that month. They also work well as a way for someone to wear their own birthstone, or for a parent marking a child's birth month.

Each stone is a genuine, natural turquoise, cut and polished as a smooth oval cabochon rather than faceted, since turquoise is an opaque stone rather than a clear one. You may notice small variations in colour and veining from one pair to the next — that's part of what comes with a real stone rather than a manufactured one. The stud itself is finished in gold vermeil: a layer of 18kt gold over sterling silver, giving the warmth of gold with a lighter, everyday feel.
