February Birthstone Stud Earrings – Amethyst, Gold Vermeil

A single oval amethyst, soft violet in colour, set simply on a gold vermeil post. These are made for wearing every day — quiet enough to forget you have them on, until someone asks about the colour.

Amethyst is February's birthstone, so these make sense as a gift for a February birthday, a Valentine's Day gift, or any occasion tied to someone born that month. They also work well as a way for someone to wear their own birthstone, or for a parent marking a child's birth month.

Each stone is a genuine, natural oval amethyst, measuring approximately 3mm x 4mm, so you may notice small variations in tone and clarity from one pair to the next — that's part of what comes with a real gemstone rather than a manufactured one. The stud itself is finished in gold vermeil: a layer of 18kt gold over sterling silver, giving the warmth of gold with a lighter, everyday feel. As with all vermeil pieces, we'd suggest keeping them away from perfume, lotion and water where you can, to help the gold layer last.
